Upcoming Valheim Server Changes!
By Hammer Jul 4th 2023 at 05:07 pm MDTCould it potentially end in disaster? I must admit, I'm unsure. I frequently find myself drawn to highly realistic game mechanics, but sometimes the realism can be overbearing, making it less of a game and more of a frustration.
So, will this game fall into that category? I certainly hope not. In fact, I've already begun a solo single-player game where both the map and portals can be turned off. Even though the hardcore setting isn't available yet, I'm adhering to it on my honor. So far, my experience has been enlightening. I've learned to discern north, discovered that clicking on a boss location obelisk gradually turns your camera towards the boss, and despite possessing this knowledge, it's still a considerable challenge to stay on track and locate the boss's lair.
I confess, after a fruitless search lasting about two hours or possibly more, I succumbed and cheated to find the first boss. I know, it seems ludicrous! The initial boss should be a breeze, but it proved incredibly difficult.
With more of us, around half a dozen, scrambling about the mainland, locating the first boss should become more manageable. However, beyond that, I anticipate significant challenges, particularly in traversing terrains that could span multiple islands. The question arises: do we need to band together and construct a sizeable compound? Given the introduction of three new challenging raids, I believe that might be wise. After all, we would benefit from the support of allies to prevent us from falling prey to a daunting raid when we least expect it.
