ARK Survival Ascended Aberration is almost here!

While Aberration isn't my favorite map (Scorched Earth all the way!) it still holds some fond memories for me. Mostly of being pursued by a wild pack of Ravagers or innocently wandering through a mushroom field only to find myself tripping or dead ... or both. This iteration of Aberration, however, promises some new things that are making me wish time would go faster. =)

A robot companion!! - WC have teased that we will have access to our own personal Automaton; Sir-5rM8 (read that as "Survivor Mate"). Details are still sketchy but the dev release tells us this -

"This ingenious automaton was fashioned to assist Survivors of discerning taste. Do you find yourself overburdened with the complexities of day-to-day survival? Allow this marvel of mechanical engineering to attend to those unpleasant domestic chores for you! Whether it's repairing your structures, gathering useful resources, or carrying provisions, your indispensable clockwork companion will always perform its duties with impeccable precision and grace."

Could this possibly be the answer to all of my base maintenance needs?!



New building skins!! - I've already decided that WildCard can make as many crazy, purchasable animals as they want and I will not be moved by that, I am always and forever a sucker for building skins though. Thankfully my purchase of the original Bob's Tall Tales includes this next round of building skins in the price. These skins will be Steam Punk themed. I'm feeling inspired already!
